Amarone is like a Ferrari in a bottle: finely tuned, audaciously bold, irresistibly forward!

Aah- Mah- ROAHHhh- NEe!

The very name conjures the likes of Gina Lollobrigida dancing in a Fellini movie through the canal-laced streets of Venice (not sure that ever actually happened but you get the gist!),   Amarone is Italy in a bottle, operatically bold, juicy and engrossing.   A wine that often becomes the centerpiece of a dinner table, stealing focus from all other luminaries present, food, celebrity, or otherwise.  True, it's raw power can be overwhelming at times, like an over-throttled Ferrari, but when balance is achieved... Amarone is a trans formative wine, the realization of how profound a social experience the world's most sublime beverage can provide!

As such expectations are high; there are middling, perhaps even poor, entries (never had an outright bad one though) entries, but this one didn't disappoint, especially at the price (anything under $40 a bottle at retail for Amarone is a good deal)
